During Mass this morning, our priest talked about this young man in his homily. Today is feast of St Franis de Sales who is a doctor of the Church. St Francis store and lived heroically in his time on the love of Christ in being an example to a world filled with hate. His homily spoke of this young man’s short life as current day witness to a life of service and love. I don’t know this young man. After reading just a bit about him, I wish I did know him! He by all accounts seemed like the gentle soul his mother described him as. His service is well documented here. But, I think what speaks the most is on his last day on this earth, he went to Mass and adored Christ. As father said, the lesson here is you don’t know when the Lord will call you home. I’m sure this young man thought he was just beginning but the Lord has a different plan. I hope his family and all who read his story find solace from their grief knowing in his 23 short years, he lived a life of a Christian. Perhaps more so than those who live 70 or mor years. This world is so hateful right now. But somehow I think the only answer is more men and women like Ryan. I pray for his eternal soul. I pray for his family. And, yes, as hard as it is, I pray for his murderer that he converts https://www.ncregister.com/news/ryan-realbuto-catholic-volunteer
Thanks, Miker. What a sweet young man. Somehow I believe his generosity will continue in heaven and many more will benefit from his great love.
