Praying for all directly effected by the School Shooting in Texas. I can't imagine what it is like to loose a very young child in circumstances like this. Please God a good strong Faith will sustain them all. The young man who carried out the shooting seems to have been little more than a child himself. I found it shocking that he shot his own grandmother before doing anything else. I had a very special love for my own two grandmothers and reverenced them. What can you say? What do grandmothers ever do but love? An event like this reminds me of a wind that blows around the candlelabra of the world and makes the flames of all souls gutter a little. Each event like this diminishes us all a little. The Devil is so active in the world and has a very special hatred against the unborn and the young. But they are in the arms of Jesus, the Holy Angels and the Saints now who can take care of them and love them better than we could ever do. Sigh. What a terrible, terrible World we live in.
Well said. This horror is all too common in the US. We are a very sick culture on so many levels. May God save us. You are right that the children are safe now. But what grief! The hand if the devil is all over this.
Gun control will not change it. Laws will not change it. The only thing that will change it is a new earth. When Jesus comes again. Just look at all the atrocities in history . . .evil does exist. As JP ll said, eventually evil will devour itself. Gotta keep praying and keep evil away from our doors.
The Left knows the above in bold is true. They simply view it as a means to eliminate resistance to their totalitarian intentions (destroy the Bill of Rights!). And so it continues. Suppress Christianity- create upheaval - eliminate freedoms for the sake of "order." Lord have Mercy!
There just are no words right now. The reality is so many people in that corner of the world are in agonizing pain. I look at the pictures of these little angels with tears in my eyes. All I can think and say- how much longer Lord until you return? I was moved that after our noon Mass today, our pastor asked us to all stay and pray a decade of the Rosary for all of these victims and their families. https://nypost.com/2022/05/25/texas-school-shooting-what-we-know-about-the-victims/
I like to think There was a huge party yesterday as a new batch of innocent saints arrived being carried by Our Mother!
Such beautiful children. One girl’s photo was taken of her in her First Holy Communion dress. In church. Such wrenching heartbreak.

Has there been any campaign in America to effectively end bullying in schools? somehow this seems to be the driving force behind this kind of tragedy in America.
Luan, I am pretty certain, that there was a huge campaign to end bullying in the US a few years ago. Now, imho, the current campaign appears to be woke-ism. I truly wish that we would just go back to the anti-bullying campaign. It should be enough to tell children to be nice and respectful to each other etc. With that said, I don't believe that bullying is the reason that things like this occur. The young man who perpetrated this atrocity on children and teachers that he never met and others who have performed similar atrocities seem to be very angry individuals who appear to be stuck in their lives at the time that they do these things. They appear to believe that the have no future or not a very good one and they want to end their lives but they also want to gain notoriety before they die and hurt others. It is very difficult for me to wrap my head around it all and I don't want to sound like I have figured out the reason for every situation like this but I thought that I might be able to help give you some perspective. I hope that I have helped. [Edited to add: Of course, a lack of faith is another big reason why these horrendous things are occurring. These gunmen appear to have absolutely no fear of God and of going to Hell.] Now, the news about this mass shooting is that the police hesitated for around an hour or so and this is being further investigated. The second latest piece of news which is terribly sad is that the husband of one of the murdered teachers has literally died of a broken heart (heart attack), so very sad. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-61600914 I'm continuing to pray for all those affected by this shooting and that this sort of madness stops.+
This was where my head immediately went to when reading Luans question on bullying. I think the primary answer is we took God out of schools. We have taken God out of the so called public square or arena. So, why should we not expect these horrendous events? God has not abandoned us but rather he respects us so much that he has allowed us to say “we don’t need you”. Only when we collectively can say- God we messed up big time and ask Him to once again be central in our lives will we have these issues. And I honestly do not know if it’s too late - there are days when I think it is too late but I need to continue to hope that God will act and help.
