My friend has end stage breast cancer. It's spread everywhere and recently to her brain. We grew up on the same street, about 10 houses apart. The stories I could tell! But I won't, LOL. She has never been the religious sort. Her mom is Catholic. Her dad is a Baptist. We made our First Communion together, but her mom stopped taking her to church shortly thereafter. Since her diagnosis a few years back she started attending a Baptist church. The members of the church have been really helpful to her through this ordeal. However. Yesterday she texted me that she saw the devil waiting for her. He's been peeking at her through their Peace Lily plant. She kind of blamed me because of something I texted to her, which I texted to a bunch of people because I thought it was inspirational: Ponder how valuable your soul must be for Satan to tirelessly pursue it, and the King to lay down his own life for it. And that's when she started seeing the devil. Her dad reassured her nothing is there. I'm not so sure nothing is there. Being Catholic, I'm aware how Satan prowls closely when he senses the final hour is near. I didn't say that to her though. She is suffering enough, worrying about everything, especially what's going to happen to her 14 year old daughter. With the cancer having spread to her brain, it could be from that, then again she hasn't hallucinated anything else. I prayed about what to say to her after she told me about the devil. I ended up texting her back "Would it comfort you to have a priest give you the Anointing of the Sick?" I sent her a link that explains the sacrament in detail. She hasn't responded. Regardless, please pray for my dear friend's salvation. Also, please say extra prayers for her dad. He's in his 80s, in poor health himself, yet he's her primary care giver, and has a great many other burdens resting on his shoulders.
I was asked some 15 years ago to pray with someone with brain cancer, it had also spread throughout his body. He was very emaciated. During the prayer it emerged he had huge unforgiveness, but also that his heart was broken. I was led to pray for his broken heart. The Lord healed him. He is still going strong thank God. Don't give up, look at the Lord, not the problem.
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy. Hail, Holy Queen Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve: to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Pray for us, O most holy Mother of God, that we may be worthy of the promises of Christ. O Holy St. Michael , defend us in the hour of battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and with him all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
Prayers! Starting right now Rain. Your poor friend. Iam going to Our Lady Refuge of Sinners and to St Michael. I will pray for her father too.
I would appreciate if you would all on the forum remember in your prayers a neighbour of mine who looks like he will soon die. Not a church going man, would be great if you would throw his name in with the rest of your intentions when your saying the rosary or at Holy Mass, his name is Joseph. I plan to visit him in hospital tomorrow and ask if he would like to see a Priest, not likely but sure I'll give it a try. Thanks to you all in advance.
Prayers for Joseph. ..and for your poor friend Deanna, what is Her name? It better with a name. TO Our Lady of Perpetual Succour.
