Im not afraid of it in the sense it could become Skynet, nor of explicit websites since theyre rather easy to block with a plug-in. But the internet itself is becoming so horrible. 99% of news sites are slander, calumny, irrelevant details about the private lives of famous people or just stories that were published in satirical tabloids and are taken up as real. or just conspiracy theories posing as legitimate websites.
anyone can contact anyone, anyone can post anything (such as a sedevacantist website NOT saying theyre sedes, but posting catholic stuff in the open). you can check up the social media of anyone you meet and know a whole lot about him. tourism may become obsolete because you can browse any street of any city for hours on google street view map
So, Im not afraid of the militaristic-political uses of the internet -even tho theyre a real danger- but rather, of how the social tissue of the world is being destroyed by artificial, gratuitous and random interactions.
thats why I want to install time blockers, social media and news blockers, etc on top of the anti-nsfw blockers everyone should have.

Could you just avoid the internet altogether? I just use my email to see what I want to see. I get a couple daily news emails from faithful Catholic sources, and I access this forum either directly or by clicking on an email. I'm not on any social media, so there's no temptation to visit any of those. Just let the internet go on without you!

I totally get this. I share in your caution. I am too dependent on it it is a port in the storm since I don't watch TV except EWTN. On the net .I can see Catholic sites and a few news commentators that i deem trustworthy.. I have given up cable news completely. You do have to dodge the sede vacantis but they eventually "out" themselv3s. But if it's a temptation for you then definitely give it up. A lot of people thrive without it.

Aye, I *should* do that. My best idea is to reverse-block websites ( a plug in that blocks ALL websites except the ones you specify). Because I use some websites for entertainment like reading (old, new ones are horrible) comics
Another thing thats great is image-blocker plugin and audio-only youtube plug in! For studying youtube lectures, etc, without all extra stuff
