I think this is very interesting news and opens up a framework in which agreement for a common date for the Easter celebrations can be worked out. Here is a nice, short, video of the moment when Pope Francis expressed the need to have a common date:

This is good news. I had read that at the meeting just finished that they might not have been able to agree on the topics to be discussed at the Council and that the Council itself might not take place. So this is very good news and a significant development in the path to Christian Unity.
