Over the years I've notice a number of undoubtedly well-intentioned Catholic websites making the alleged claim that Our Lady of Fatima (1917) voiced a direct reference to her intended future appearances in Garabandal (1961-65).

Oftentimes these commentaries will mention the titles of older (now out of print) books in support of this dubious claim. Despite my best efforts, I've been unable to locate any of the mentioned citations. Consequently, I'm inclined to relegate the claimed nexus between these two apparitions as being spurious.

(Note: I'm open to being corrected, if anyone has actually located a reliable primary source for this information.)

It's interesting to note that various narratives can be perpetuated on the Internet without being validated. Once any given story has been recounted innumerable times on various websites, its sheer prevalence acquires a semblance of 'truth'.

Here is one such commentary taken from a somewhat popular website (the information quoted below should not be given any credence):

    ------------------------------
The Virgin Mary, appeared at Garabandal more than 2000 times during the next four years and four months, fulfilling a promise She had made to the three shepherd children of Fatima on October 13, 1917—the day of the great Miracle of the Sun at Fatima. On that day in Fatima, dressed as Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and holding the Baby Jesus in her arms, She bade farewell to the three shepherd children saying, “until San Sebastian, Spain” (“até Sao Sebastiao da Hesphana”).

There is a large city on the northern coast of Spain, near the coastal border with France, which is named San Sebastian. However, Our Lady had in mind the little, mountain village of San Sebastian de Garabandal. Her prediction at Fatima to return at San Sebastian de Garabandal was published in a 1921 book, “Os Episodios Maravilhosos de Fatima” (“The Marvelous Episodes of Fatima”) by Rev. Dr. Manuel Formigão, who had interviewed the three shepherd children of Fatima on several occasions. This matter of Mary’s promise to return—at San Sebastian de Garabandal—is also written about in the 1937 annals of the Carmelites, a copy of which is reported to be in the Carmelite convent in Coimbra, Portugal where Sr. Lucia died in February,2005. A reference to Rev. Fr. Formigão’s 1921 book is found in, “The Lady More Brilliant than the Sun” by Fr. John de Marchi.

This underlines a direct linkage between the two series of apparitions—Fatima and Garabandal; and the two can be called one story in two parts, separated by 44 years.

Not to say it isn't true, but I have never read that before about Our Lady of Mt Carmel saying that at Fatima...

I think this alleged reference has been discussed before

I absolutely believe in both Fatima and Garabandal but it would seem no one has ever been able to provide a reliable source for this reference.

But you could check with Glenn.
