    Are the Garabandal prophecies of “The Warning”, “The Miracle”, and the “Chastisement”, mentioned in the Bible ?

    The Warning

    The closest thing to the Warning was what St. Paul experienced, at his conversion. A bright light, seeing his sinfulness, and repentance.
    As [Paul] was nearing Damascus, a light from the sky suddenly flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” He said, “Who are you, sir?” The reply came, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting”… things like scales fell from his eyes and he regained his sight. (Acts 9:3-5, 19 )

    It may be St. Paul himself who saw our future about the time of the Warning when he said :
    “men will be in love with self, in love with money, boastful, abusive; without reverence for their parents, without gratitude, without scruple, without love, without peace; slanderers, incontinent … thinking rather of their pleasures than of God” (II Tim. 3:2-5).

    The Miracle

    HOLY THURSDAY, APRIL 11, 1963:
    "AN AMAZING "SENAL" ("SIGN") WILL
    REMAIN AT THE SITE OF THE PINES,
    IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE GREAT
    EVENTS OF THE "D" DAY . . . UNTIL
    THE END OF TIMES"!
    On this Holy Thursday, Conchita learned about the future "Senal," the Sign which, right after the events of the "D" day, "will stay at the site of the Pines until the end of times, in the form of a luminous column, a kind of cloud by day and fire by night." This phenomenon will symbolize, through its obvious biblical, ecclesial and eschatological connotations, the presence of God in the midst of His people, so enlightened and guided in its worldly journey towards the "Promised Land." Who then would not see also that such a Sign will doubtless represent for the Jews themselves, at the beginning of this 21st century, as it were, a powerful and astonishing reminder of the Sinai Covenant and of its profound exigences? For "they are beloved (of God), for the sake of their ancestors; for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable" (Rom 1:28-29). Indeed, in this way, Garabandal will reveal, in a broader prophetic scope, the richness of what we call the "mystery of the Carmel" . . . of which we are still too unaware. That mystery, with its obvious link with the huge figure of the prophet Elijah, so dear to the Jews, obviously refers to the "mystery of the people of Israel" with whom Yahweh had concluded an alliance in the past, but also to the whole People of God, the eschatological Israel."
    At the very spot where this prodigious "Senal" will emerge, a sanctuary will eventually be built in honor of the Archangel St. Michael, "Protector of the People of God." We may also note that this great "Sign" will necessarily have a profound affinity with the very nature of the Miracle to come. It will not only be visible for everyone, but it will even be possible to photograph and televise, but not touch, such an extraordinary supernatural phenomenon.

    How is the Pillar of Smoke connected to Garabandal ?

    1. The Pillar of Smoke at Garabandal
    It is an established fact that, in 1961 or 1962, Conchita was told by the Blessed Virgin that a senal, a sign, would remain at the Pines:

    • that it would remain there para siempre, forever;

    • that it will be possible to photograph and televise it, but not feel it;

    • that it will appear as a thing not of this world, but originating from God;

    • that it will be miraculous, a permanent miracle.

    It is comparable to a pillar of smoke, but also to rays of sunlight, insofar as it can be seen but not touched.

    It will be made up of an unknown substance.

    The phrase para siempre needs some comment. In 1983, that is 20 years later, Conchita came to think that it meant "until the end of time." This is unlikely: the abstract notion of time is absent from the Bible, even from Rev. 10:6. Para siempre could either be a simplification of haste el fin de los tiempos or have the same meaning often found in the Ancient Testament of "age-lasting," and usually translated to mean "forever." Here is an example among a hundred:

    "Judah shall dwell forever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation."

    2. The Pillar of Smoke in the Bible
    There are three references to the Pillar of Smoke in the Bible. All the Hebrews who followed Moses out of Egypt saw "the pillar of cloud by day and of fire by night" saving them from the Egyptians, giving them the Torah at Mount Sinai, remaining present among His People, serving as their guide "wherever they halted on their journey," "marking out their encampments." It was the Lord who "appeared to them in this pillar of cloud that rose above them at the tabernacle door."

    The mysterious cloud invaded the temple of Solomon. Nehemias celebrated the Lord, "leading thy people on their journey, hidden by day in a pillar of cloud, by night in a pillar of fire, to light the path they must tread."

    The Psalms mention it five times, as guide of God's People, as overcoming the idolaters, as protector, as carrying His word: "His voice came to them from the pillar of cloud; so they heard the decrees, the law he gave them."

    The prophets announced that it would come back "a cloud of smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night." "It shall come to pass that I will pour out my spirit upon everyone... and I will show wonders in the heavens and on earth, blood, fire, and pillar of smoke."

    The luminous cloud will become a choice subject of rabbinic thought and of Christian mystical theology (see Jerusalem Bible. Note on Ex. 13:22). All Jews know about it, many know what this pillar meant; a manifestation of God dwelling among His chosen people, tenting, tabernacling amidst them, guiding them, shedding light upon them, speaking to them. And the other nations know this. It is the Shekinah, the most sacred and mysterious sign of the deity. It stands in the middle of heaven, teaches Rabbi Eliezer.

    3. Pillar of Smoke Connected with Garabandal

    How is this Pillar of Smoke connected with Garabandal? Not only was this pillar of smoke announced by Conchita as a permanent miracle above the pines, but it was actually seen by a number of people at Garabandal.

    On November 18, 1961, in the evening, the column of smoke by day, or fire by night, was seen and felt, thanks to the heat it radiated, between the nine pines and the last station of the Way of the Cross build there some 20 years later.

    It was a cold evening. A shepherd, about 20 years old, was coming down the mountain with his sheep. As he went by the pine trees, he noticed a column of smoke above a black round spot some 50cm in diameter. Without bothering to figure out its nature, he moved toward it and warmed himself awhile thanks to its heat, while keeping an eye on his sheep. He went down to Cosio, after crossing Garabandal, without telling anyone about the phenomena, so it seems. His name is Ramon Gonzalez.
    It was also seen from the village for two or three months in that autumn of 1962, as a smoke by day and a gleam by night. The written testimony we have is good.

    It was seen again on November 25, 1962, by four excellent French witnesses. The column was seen at night, clear cut and luminous. Their testimony has been collected and will be published when the proper time comes.

    THE CHASTISEMENT

    The Chastisement mentioned in different places throughout the bible.

    Isaiah 13:[9] Behold, the day of the Lord shall come, a cruel day, and full of indignation, and of wrath, and fury, to lay the land desolate, and to destroy the sinners thereof out of it. [10] For the stars of heaven, and their brightness shall not display their light: the sun shall be darkened in his rising, and the moon shall not shine with her light.
    Isaiah 26: 20 Go, my people, enter into thy chambers, shut thy doors upon thee, hide thyself a little for a moment, until the indignation pass away. [21] For behold the Lord will come out of his place, to visit the iniquity of the inhabitant of the earth against him: and the earth

    (quoting from the book of Joel) [
    Joel Chpt. 2 (Joel 2:2 )
    2 a day of darkness and gloom,
    a day of clouds and thick darkness!
    Like blackness there is spread upon the mountains
    a great and powerful people;
    their like has never been before,
    nor will be again after them
    through the years of all generations.

    Mathew 24: [29] And immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven shall be moved: [30] And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all tribes of the earth mourn: and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with much power and majesty.

    If these events immediatly precede the return of our Lord, can the chastisement be related to the end of time? and if so the event that begins with the letter "A" can also be the apocalypse right?

    This is something that I don't fully understand quite yet, I was convinced the mark of the beast couldn't be among us until after the miracle because the miracle is a chance to forgive anybody with repentance in the world without exceptions while the mark of the beast condemns everybody who takes it without exceptions, but now that you quote these end time passages I cannot be as sure. Maybe there will be a long time between the miracle and the chastisement and during this time gap the end time events will occur?

    What is your opinion? Did the girls ever mention anything related to the end time, like the son of perdition/antichrist, etc?

    Petrus, The girls never spoke of the AC, or the actual "end of time". All the prophecies were about the time preceding that.
    I've heard every possible scenario for a timeline for the final "end times". There is no "concrete " timetable that I know of for the period between the Miracle & the "Conditional Chastisement" and the true end of all time. And the reason is because , the Chastisement is supposed to be "conditional". Maybe humanity does an about face , but it happens slowly, is there an actual cutoff date for the rate of conversion & Repentance ? Maybe there is. The safe bet here is to listen to Conchita & Padre Pio, because you will not be able to control this situation, only control your own destiny (hopefully Heaven). Conchita said: “To guess at dates regarding the [prophesied] Miracle shows a lack of faith in the Blessed Virgin. Indeed, the energies expended on this are so much better spent on living the Message! “ and Padre Pio famously said " Pray ,Hope & don't worry'.
    Simple advice, but maybe that's all we will be able to do.

    Thank you very much for your clear answer, and for being kind enough to share what you know is confirmed Glenn. I also thank you for being desirous of my salvation, I'll retribute your sentiment with a prayer.

    I definitely have to learn to live more in resignation to God's will like Conchita and that Holy Saint Padre Pio. :)
