New photo from Medjugorje is going viral – silhouette of the Madonna appears in the sky

A photo from Medjugorje is making the rounds of the web
An evocative image comes from the skies of the small village in Bosnia …

THE VIRAL PHOTO – Browsing the web we found an article on vesuvius.it that would report a very particular photo from Medjugorje: in the image you can clearly see the silhouette of the Madonna, in the form of a cloud, in the sky.

The photograph is made even more suggestive by the red colors of the sunset.

We do not know if it is a photo montage or if it is true.

There have been, there are and will be signs in Medjugorje.

But what always matters is the faith and conversion of this place of prayer.

With computer aids like Photo Shop it is , to someone like me impossible to tell the true from the false in the photo world. But I do believe in Medugorje so it is very easy for me to believe this picture is real. There is a whole history of such wonderful pictures dating right back to 1981 when the Apparitions began. In either case if it were false and we believed what harm would it do? It is a pious and innocent belief which inspires great love , prayer and devotion so I personally wouldn't get myself tied up in knots over a , 'Is it?' Isn't it?' kind of argument.

They say the highest type of Mystical phenomena is a Theophany, in other words a showing forth of the Hand of God to many. A for instance the Dancing of the Sun at Fatima, the Coming down of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, the apparition to the entire village at Knock , Ireland and so on.

I would say the appearance of Mary in the sky, 'A Great Sign was seen in the sky' , would count as a Theophany. It is as though God were shouting, 'Wake up and smell the coffee!''

    Revelation 12:1

    The Woman and the Dragon
1And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed in the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. 2She was pregnant and crying out in the pain and agony of giving birth.…

I find it fun though playing Sherlock Holmes with pictures like this. The appearance of Mary is obvious , but I love looking for other little signs. In this case you can see a Pillar of Light going from her head up to the heavens. This reminds me of the Pillar of Light that guided the Hebrews in the Desert.

(This Pillar of Light was also of course a Theophany)

    Exodus 13:21

The Pillars of Cloud and Fire
…20They set out from Succoth and camped at Etham on the edge of the wilderness. 21And the LORD went before them in a pillar of cloud to guide their way by day, and in a pillar of fire to give them light by night, so that they could travel by day or night.22Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place before the people.…

Also, I am not sure about this, see for yourself. But if you follow the pillar of light upwards I can see a circle, as though a Crown and very faintly some kind of face or symbol within.:)

and Photoshop didn't come out until the late 1980s. I can't see that every apparition and sign that ever appeared in the sky in Medjugorje is doctored. It's just a special place, full stop.

I once had in my possession, a photo from Medjugorje of clouds that almost perfectly made up the form of the Good Shepard.. I let one of the kids take it to school to show the teacher (a million years ago) and not sure what happened to it after that. It was pretty amazing... I look for the good in these things and want to share the good!

I can absolutely assure you that this one wasn't photoshopped. I took it myself and the first person apart from me who saw it (a Northern Irish Presbyterian) said, 'It looks to me like a crowned woman praying'. I couldn't see it at first myself. Medj_Our_Lady.JPG

The best videos of miraculous goings on I have ever seen were from the Church approved Marian Apparitions in Zeituin Egypt. I kept watching them over and over again.:):)

    Stunning. Incredible.

  12. Legalism and image seem to influence what even has been tested for decades these days. Bringing up the old, historical matter of the "Herzegovinian case" again.

Will new Bishop be of continued good will towards Medjugorje?

In an interview with Croatian Catholic Radio, Petar Palić, the newly appointed Bishop of Mostar and Duvanj and the Apostolic Administrator of Trebinje and Mrkanj, had this to say about Medjugorje:

“As is well known, Medjugorje is now directly under the administration of the Holy See. Msgr Hoser is there as an administrator. The “Herzegovinian case”, as it is otherwise called, that is, the surrender of parishes that are still, if we can say so, in an irregular canonical state – these are open questions. These are open issues that will certainly require a solution, but we must be open to cooperation, as I said, and understanding, and observation, and analysis so that we can approach the best – the best possible solution to these issues.”

“Currently, as I said, Medjugorje is under the administration of Msgr Hoser. I have met him now, both last night and today. There is already his invitation to visit Medjugorje. I have to see how things stand legally – what his powers are, which are possibly mine as a diocesan bishop. Of course, I am not running away from visiting Medjugorje. Medjugorje is a parish of the Mostar diocese. Therefore, this regular pastoral life, of course, with this specificity that Medjugorje brings with it, takes place in Medjugorje, so I look forward to visiting Medjugorje.”

Medjugorje: Visionary reveals: “A new world will be born. The secrets mark the end of an era and the dawn of a new.”

Vicka’s cheerful facial expression may be a harbinger of how life on earth will be in the new era prophecied by the Virgin Mary.

One day the 10 secrets will belong to the past. By that time the world will be very much different, to the better. The secrets mark the end of an era and the dawn of a new.

This new era will be an era of peace, and so it will be much more widely understood why the Virgin Mary called herself the Queen of Peace when she first appeared in Medjugorje. In this new era mankind will live in a new-found harmony with God. Jesus will live and reign in all hearts.
But in its present sinful state humanity is not ready for this. And so the ultimate purpose of the entire sequence of secrets is cleansing, purifying and humbling mankind, bringing mankind back to its senses, and restoring the true proportions to the relationship between God and man.

I have an optimistic view of the future. If we all begin to live these (the Virgin Mary’s) messages, a new world will be born”, visionary Marija Pavlovic said in 1988. (2) And so the secrets also signify the end to Satan’s current iron grip on mankind, visionary Mirjana Dragicevic was told in the second year of the apparitions: “This century is under the power of the devil, but when the secrets confided to you come to pass, his power will be destroyed. (1982; exact date unknown)

Only one of the Virgin Mary’s prophecies from Fatima still remains to be fulfilled: “In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph.” (Fatima, July 13th 1917) (3) Little more than 74 years later, in Medjugorje, the Virgin Mary revealed that the time of her triumph is near: “I invite you to renunciation for nine days so that with your help everything I wanted to realize through the secrets I began in Fatima may be fulfilled.” (August 25th 1991)
Fr. Jozo Zovko prophecied the more specific contents of the Triumph of Mary’s Immaculate Heart. At times referred to as “the seventh visionary” it is beyond doubt that Fr. Jozo, parish priest in Medjugorje by the time of the first apparitions, has his own mystical experiences. On April 23rd 1992 he told the French nun Sr. Emmanuel Maillard: “Here ends a great war which in Europe began with the arrival of Communism. Here, the prophecy of Fatima, with respect to the conversion of the world and of the debacle of the atheistic communist regime is justified, is carried out.”

And here where Communism and evil were perhaps the most deeply rooted, here where the Virgin Mary appeared for ten years, here is taking place what is going to be unique, grandiose: the victory, the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the downfall of human errors, the change of the human heart, the creation of a new mentality, the beginning of a better world.

Mirjana: Don’t be afraid to have children

While her knowledge of some of the secrets gives Mirjana a heavy Cross to carry, she also carries the joy of knowing details about the Triumph of Mary’s Immaculate Heart Because the visionaries know about the secrets and the future, many people were excited to see if they would marry and have children. There was some relief when Ivanka, the first to see the Virgin Mary, became the first to have a child, too. Today all the visionaries have children, a total of 17. And Mirjana has said that people are mistaken if they choose not to have children. This she said during a conversation with Sr. Emmanuel Maillard, the French nun who has lived in Medjugorje since 1989: Sr. Emmanuel: “Yesterday you passed on very strong assertions from Our Lady. For instance: “Do not be afraid to have children. You should rather fear not to have any! The more children you have, the better!”. Mirjana: “Yes, she did say that, and she knows why she said it. I know, too….but I can’t tell you more”. Sr. Emmanuel: “Oh…you know, too…!” Mirjana (nodding, smiling, with the assurance of a strong profession of faith): “When the secrets are revealed, people will understand why it was so important for them to have many children. We are all waiting for the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary”. (5)

Jesus will reign in all hearts The historical mission of the Virgin Mary is bringing Jesus into the world. From Jesus she receives all things and all her strength, and with this strength and the love that they share, she leads everyone who permits her to Jesus. To everything she does Jesus is the measure as well as the means. Therefore the Virgin Mary’s heart cannot be said to have triumphed until every human heart is resting in the love and peace of Jesus. This is is why her expressed goal of the apparitions in Medjugorje is no less than the conversion of the world. And why she has specifically linked her coming triumph to the presence of Jesus in all human hearts:

The triumph of Mary’s Immaculate Heart will bring on an era of peace. It will not come about through politicians, but from mankind having come to peace with God. The uniquely peaceful atmosphere of Medjugorje is an open window into the era to come. This peace, experienced by millions of pilgrims, is meant to be “picked up”, internalized and “exported” back home through the personal conversion, witnessing and prayer of those who come to Medjugorje: “Dear children! Today I am happy to see you in such great numbers, that you have responded and have come to live my messages. I invite you, little children, to be my joyful carriers of peace in this troubled world. Pray for peace so that as soon as possible a time of peace, which my heart waits impatiently for, may reign.” (June 25th 1995) “Dear children! This is a time of great graces, but also a time of great trials for all those who desire to follow the way of peace. Because of that, little children, again I call you to pray, pray, pray, not with words but with the heart. Live my messages and be converted. Be conscious of this gift that God has permitted me to be with you, especially today when in my arms I have little Jesus – the King of Peace. I desire to give you peace, and that you carry it in your hearts and give it to others until God’s peace begins to rule the world. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (December 25th 2002)

I have a sneaky feeling the above quote could have come straight out of a communist procedures pamphlet. I hope to be wrong.

fyi: many have asked how to calculate the date of the chastisement: here is one example:

St. Bridget of Sweden remarks: "When the feast of St. Mark shall fall on Easter (April 25, 2038), the feast of St. Anthony on Pentecost (June 13, 2038) and that of St. John the Baptist on the feast of Corpus Christi (June 24, 2038), the whole world shall cry, Woe!" 19(Spring of 2038) 1/

“Dear children! I am with you for so long because God is great in His love and in my presence. I am calling you, little children: return to God and to prayer. May the measure of your [way of] living be love and do not forget, little children, that prayer and fasting work miracles in you and around you. May everything you do be for the glory of God, and then Heaven will fill your heart with joy and you will feel that God loves you and is sending me to save you and the earth on which you live. Thank you for having responded to my call.”
