The latest aledged message from Jesus to Luz de Maria (7 Aug 2022) includes: My people, you hear the roar of war in the Balkans, treachery and death comes to these lands. The struggles now and hereafter will be for water, which will become too scarce. The human creature has despised it and the high temperatures evaporate it. This was suggested in the past. For instance: Mary Jan 8 2018: Water will be the cause of struggles in various countries due to the contamination of this same water. Mary 17 Feb 18: Water is increasingly contaminated by man and his deliberate acts against Humanity itself. Man does not treasure water Mary 20 Jan 2018 : MY CHILDREN, THE THIRD WORLD WAR …… WILL COME TO A CLIMAX IN A WAR FOR THE POSSESSION OF WATER. The pollution to which this precious liquid, essential for life, has been subjected, will cause various countries to end up fighting to own water. This liquid that you disdain, that you allow to be lost as if it were nothing - this liquid, children, will become the final reason for the Third World War. Listening to the news tonight about rivers in europe drying up makes these messages ring true! The 'prophets' tell us what will happen if we do not change. Things only grow worse. Only prayer can lessen the disasters.
In this message and all true prophecy, the symbol "water" is primarily used to denote "an instrument of cleansing from sin." The grace of God which rains down on us from Heaven (Rorate caeli) is the true "water" that washes away sin, but the "sacramental matter" of natural H2O is required for the Sacrament of Baptism. Our "tears" (a type of water) are also referred to as water that helps to cleanse us from sin because "sorrow for sin" is necessary for "sacramental absolution" in the Sacrament of Penance. The coming "Third World War" that Luz is talking about will be the war between the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church and the Counterfeit Catholic Church. The Synod on Synodality is the opening battle. This battle between the true Church and the false Church will end with the "Battle of Armageddon." Armageddon is Hebrew for "har Megiddo" or "mountain of Megiddo." Mount Carmel is only a few miles from the town of Megiddo, which is itself located in the plain of Jezreel. Remember that Mount Carmel was the site of the final battle between Elijah and Jezabel's false priests of Baal. And so, the Battle of Armageddon is a literary allusion to both the stories of Elijah and of Our Lady as victors in the final battle to come. The Counterfeit Catholic Church will say that certain sins that Jesus warned us about are no longer sins. The Counterfeit Church will not recognize or absolve those sins. This is what Luz's message is referring to with the word "water": either that the sacraments of cleansing will become inaccessible or they will be changed beyond recognition and made invalid shortly. True prophecies primarily concern realities on the mystical/spiritual plane. If you find yourself interpreting prophecies in a literal/material way, you should turn your gaze upward. The prophecies written down by Luz are not calling us to buy lots of bottled water at the supermarket. They are calling us to repent and convert quickly because, very soon, the Sacraments of cleansing will not be accessible for many people.
Thank you for that insight! That makes good sense. Can you recommend a source that explains the symbolism in prophecy?
Hi Tibbi. I'm sorry I don't really have a good source for you. But many of the Church Fathers and Doctors use interpretive techniques that are helpful. You can find their writings on NewAdvent.org. My academic training was in literature and philosophy, so I picked up my interpretive techniques from that and Bible reading. Be careful about reading Protestant interpretations of Biblical prophecy. You will be led astray by those. Stick to Catholic Saints and Doctors as your guides. Prophecies, as a genre, are more similar to poetic than "literal" description of future events. For example, understanding the literary technique of "allegory" is key to Old Testament Prophecies like Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezechiel, and Daniel. The literary technique called "allusion" is the key element in the Apocalypse. The Apocalypse is mostly a montage of different "allusions" to Old Testament prophecies and stories. So to understand the Apocalypse, you have to first become familiar with and understand the Old Testament stories and prophecies that St. John is referencing. Remember to pray to the Holy Spirit to guide you in your readings and make sure you know your Catechism so you don't stray into heresy. And always keep in mind that through prophecy God is using a story (with setting, characters, plot, theme, metaphor) based in the temporal plane to point to realities/events in the spiritual plane. There is primarily a spiritual purpose behind true prophecy. For example, when you see words like "the Earth" and "the Sea," keep in mind that the Earth can be a symbol for "the earthly pilgrimage" or "the solid, fertile ground that brings forth Wheat" or "the City of God" and the Sea can be a symbol for "the abyss of hell" or "the flood the drowns sinners" or "the City of Man." If you find yourself getting anxious or fearful about material/bodily/earthly predictions, realize that God does not intend that. He intends for you to detach yourself from worldly concerns and focus on your spiritual journey to Heaven. May God bless you!
