I usually do not focus on Medjugorje here, although I have recounted on a few occasions the tremendous grace I received on my family's pilgrimage there in December of 1987. I was convinced even more of the fruits of Medjugorje when the valley was protected during the ravages of the Bosnian War in the 1990s. Why did people seek out the valley as a refuge -because it had become a bastion of grace and safety in the midst of hatred and genocide. But even before my family's pilgrimage, what I consider one of the most beautiful signs of Mercy occurred on August 5, 1984. It was a day of stupendous peace in the village. This is recounted by Sr. Emmanuel in the following clip. If your time is short then listen to two sections: 3-9 minutes and then 25-29 minutes. That day in 1984 proved to be probably the most memorable day on record there, not because of flashy signs but because of the profound conversions that took place. In this difficult year of 2021, let us listen and renew our confidence and surrender to the Two Hearts, for the time of Triumph is close. Yes, these are dark days, but they need not destroy the peace in our souls! Let the Two Hearts be our bastion of Peace! May Jesus fill us with the Holy Spirit! 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow about his promise as some count slowness, but is forbearing toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fire, and the earth and the works that are upon it will be burned up. 11 Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of persons ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, 12 waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be kindled and dissolved, and the elements will melt with fire! 13 But according to his promise we wait for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. 14 Therefore, beloved, since you wait for these, be zealous to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace.
Awesome! I also looked up Sr Natalia Magdolna and her story, which I had never heard before, reminded me of St Faustina! Thanks for posting this Mario
Thank you for this! I have been reeling with one attack after another. Learning about Venerable Sr Natalia Magdolna’s mystical experiences and Our Lady’s role as Victorious Queen has renewed my hope! I am especially encouraged to read about a life offering prayer that has amazing promises for loved ones!! These promises are similar to those related to the Mountford consecration, but I need a (forgive me!!) jolt in the arm. This Lent has been very challenging.... The book about Sr. Natalia’s life and messages (has Nihil Obstat) entitled The Victorious Queen of the World, is hard to find but is available as a PDF download, in a Google search.
The Life offering pamphlet (10 pages) is also available as a pdf at http://www.geocities.ws/lifeoffering/p/lifeo.pdf
It says in the pamphlet that the offering prayer was written in 1955, so I don’t think there was a specific time for it.
Wow, you were there for that! My husband was actually the one who sent me this video. I was so moved that I sent it to several friends!
You jumped to a conclusion, AN. That special day was in 1984; my family's pilgrimage was in 1987. O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
So, I downloaded two separate documents based on the links provided above. Each is associated with a Hungarian nun, but they are two different people. No matter, as they both look amazing in their content, so thank you both!
Happy Easter, everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying a blessed time with the Glorious Risen Lord Jesus this Easter Season. I've been away from Mother of God forums for a while, but the Life Offering of Sr. Natalia mentioned on this thread caught my attention. I want to say, the Life Offering is easy to make and also available here. From: https://marianapostolate.com/life-offering/ "TEXT OF THE LIFE OFFERING My dear Jesus, before the Holy Trinity, Our Heavenly Mother, and the whole Heavenly Court, united with your most precious Blood and your sacrifice on Calvary, I hereby offer my whole life to the intention of your Sacred Heart and to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Together with my life, I place at your disposal all Holy Masses, all my Holy Communions, all my good deeds, all my sacrifices, and the sufferings of my of my entire life for the adoration and supplication of the Holy Trinity, for unity in our Holy Mother Church, for the Holy Father and priests, for good priestly vocations, and for all souls until the end of the world. O my Jesus, please accept my life sacrifice and my offerings and give me your grace that I may persevere obediently until my death. Amen. * * * This life offering must be made with a humble heart, firm resolution, and clear intent. All prayer, good deeds, suffering, and work done with a pure intention has great merit, if it is offered together with the merits, the sufferings, and the Blood of Jesus Christ. It is recommended that you make this life offering as soon as you feel ready, and to renew it from time to time." The details about the privileged Nun who received this Life Offering are also mentioned in the link. Nice Thread and Video. May the Illumination of Conscience come when God Wills it. Our Lady of Medjugorje, pray for us.
Hi, Xavier. The PDF version that was linked higher up on this thread—there are two, but each references a different seer—has the following additional information which I include to highlight the serious calling required for a promise such as this. These words are said to come from Our Lady: “My children! I am calling you to apostolic privilege. You are chosen to suffer mar- tyrdom of the heart for the sins of others. And by this voluntary life-sacrifice—coming from your good heart-- God will be able to pour out the flood of His mercy. Think about that! “My beloved children! If you carry patiently the little thorn from the cross of my Son that he has given to you, you can save countless souls from eternal damnation. Thus holding the hand of your Heavenly Mother, you too will partake in the work of redemption. My children! Do not ask for sufferings, but always accept with humility and selflessness those that the Lord hands to you.” Peace! ~AN
Hi Advocata Nostra, Indeed, it is a serious calling. But Our Lady asks mainly one thing, according to the Sister: "To receive Holy Communion daily, or at least weekly". I think all Catholics can fulfill that in normal times, since receiving Holy Communion frequently is a Catholic duty. In difficult times, when the churches are closed due to dictatorial lockdowns, we can make Spiritual Communions, and go to Sacramental Communion as soon as possible next time. I believe Our Lady asks mainly for this. According to the messages below, Our Lady implores those who receive Holy Communion daily, or at least weekly, to offer their lives to God through Her. The Promises imo are quite astounding! "LIFE OFFERING TO THE INTENTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY The following messages, prayers, and promises were received by a privileged Hungarian nun, a consoling soul, who in her humility and obedience to her spiritual director wished to remain anonymous while living (her name was Sr. Maria Dolores, O.S.M., born Elizabeth Krizsan). She died on May 27, 1998, at the age of 96. Mary, our Heavenly Mother, implores those who receive Holy Communion daily, or at least weekly, to offer their lives for the greater glory of God and the salvation of souls, that the souls of sinners may not be damned but receive, at least at their last hour, the graces of eternal life. THE FIVE PROMISES OF OUR HEAVENLY MOTHER TO THOSE WHO OFFER THEIR LIVES TO HER "Their names will be written in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, inflamed by love. Their life offering, together with the infinite merits of Jesus, can save many souls from damnation. All souls who will live until the end of the world will benefit from their life offering. None of their family members will go to hell, even if it seems otherwise, because they will receive, in the depths of their souls, the grace of sincere contrition before the soul departs from their bodies. On the day they offer their lives, their loved ones suffering in Purgatory will be released. I will be with them at the hour of their death. They will not know Purgatory. I will carry their souls straight to the presence of the Glorious Trinity, where they will live with me in a special place created by God and will rejoice forever." Blessings, Xavier.
Oh, yes, they are astounding, Xavier! We need to beg God for a signal grace to fulfill the sort of total abandonment of heart, spirit of sacrifice and willingness to suffer that I see are also required. But you make a very good point about where we can start. Peace! ~AN
It certainly had an impact on this former sceptic who is very glad that he went there (you may know him as the organiser of the rally for Catholic men called for Nov this year in Derry, Robert Nugent). Why I was so wrong about Medjugorje. - YouTube
On the other hand, the "personal opinion" of the current occupier of the See of Rome is as follows: "I am personally more negative: I prefer the Virgin Mary as a mother, our mother, not as head of a post office, that sends a message every day at a specific time. This is not the mother of Jesus. And these alleged appearances don't have much value." More than any other evidence that I have seen, that statement makes me absolutely certain that the Virgin Mary IS appearing at Medjugorje.
