One thing that always sticks in my mind is a vision that Saint Tereasa of Avila had of Our Lady after the death of Jesus. She said that Mary was so sad that she was actually frozen with sorrow. I suppose modern doctors would say that she had went into shock. She says that Jesus appeared to Mary as the Risen Christ and had to comfort Mary to bring her back to some kind of life.

I have seen many portrayals such as Mel Gibsons and this is the one that touches me most deeply.

Though I suppose we all have ideas what she must have looked like.
