I think this might be THE reason for the Warning and other divine interventions prophesied to come. Humans think they can not only recreate themselves, but be the creators of god itself (the Singularity). It's very interesting to me that these people don't want to be subject to their loving Creator but they're perfectly willing to potentially subject themselves to an unpredictable AI god.
It reminds me of the Snake in the Garden of Eden who tempted Eve to eat the Apple of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Or again the building of the Tower of Babel.

This is something I wrote several years ago prior to the article I posted on the top of this page: I happened to read an article that was on the news about a man that they called a “transhumanist” who was involved with a high up official in the Navy (I think ex-official) that together wanted science to implant a “chip” in everyone (I assume that is all who accept the chip)! As I got curious (that killed the cat!) about what they were getting into, I went to my trusty computer to google his name and came up with Zoltan Istvan Gyurko. Then I went to the Adoration chapel and during Adoration remembered a prophecy that was given in 1990, “The seat of the anti-christ is north of San Franciso.” (This was on Spirit Daily years ago). When I looked up where this Zoltan guy was from – none other than Mill Valley CA – north of San Francisco just over the bridge and just past the Presidio. Wondering just exactly what transhumanist meant, I found that the ultimate of what they are seeking is a quest for immortality (that’s not in heaven – but on earth! ) I also found that Zoltan is an atheist. I was interested in concepts like the singularity prior to becoming a Catholic. It starts with a fundamental error that consciousness and intelligence are something that we evolved. Unfortunately, the consciousness is trapped in a fleshly body that will wear out in 70-80 years, so a lot of the hopes are to eliminate suffering and extend lifespans. I kind of have compassion for these people... They indirectly understand that death isn't the design and they're searching for eternal life, but they're just looking in the wrong places.
The division won't last and that's what they are afraid of and know is a coming eventuality. All it will take is the right crisis to set the ball rolling and populism (Donald Trump anyone?) will rise and devour the rich and powerful and all their sacred cows yet again. They created this. Look at Europe and the great migrations of people into it in an attempt to prop up a failing welfare state that is not replacing itself due to abysmal birth rates in native Europeans. The only problem being that the people migrating are not replacing the tax base but creating more demand for welfare and social programs to support them while contributing virtually nothing. The same is happening here in the US. Biden is promising more welfare and social relief and has no way to pay for it so is proposing taxing "unrealized gains" on imaginary profits for the wealthiest Americans of course. As this goes on it will get more entertaining as they are unable to fleece the rich and instead conjure up new and exciting ways to fleece the middle class and reallocate those funds to the collective to pacify the masses if for only a little while longer...
I reckon this leads to man loosing his free will, his will to choose God and will end up being controlled and this is when will cut man off from God. So this is how man can permanently chooses Satan over God.
Man has been created in the likeness of God. Change man as the transhumanists intend, and those changed will no longer possess the likeness of God. They crave the creation of their own immortality, but think about it...the Universe itself, as described by the Laws of Thermodynamics, is designed to die. Do they foresee their ability to outlive the Universe? As Johnny Cash sang, 'you can run along for a long time, but sooner or later God's gonna cut you down'. Even if these lunatics succeed in translating their consciousnesses into a practically indestructible metal 'body', it simply requires merely enough time before a truck pins them against a wall at 100mph or an asteroid lands on them. God will find a way! What's left of their souls can have little chance of entering Heaven, it seems to me-I suspect Our Lord might advise them to go and construct their own. They could call it TransHeaven, although it will only turn out to be Hell (I suggest the anthem of TransHeaven/Hell be 'I did it my way').
The thing about people thinking they can become immortal is that it leaves little space or few resources for anyone else. It's the ultimate elitism. I'm going to be hanging around forever, so that's just tough for any future generations, no room for you at the inn. I'd think that there will be objections from those (vast masses) who get not to qualify for the privilege. There is a great irony with these people who worship the illusory concept of 'artificial intelligence'. They are generally the same people who dismiss the notion of consciousness in human beings, reducing our thoughts to nothing more than the product of random, unintended electrical impulses in our brains. Yet, they imagine that such merely material, deterministic human beings can magic other forms of matter into actual intelligence, a quality that by their own logic we ourselves cannot possess. Modernists are very strong on technical information, but extraordinarily weak on the understanding of knowledge which is required to calculate the meaning and consequences of this knowledge. St. Anthony of the Desert seems to have seen them coming, all those centuries ago.
