Hi all. I'm about to finish the first holy Saturday next month. How does Mary give the graves necessary for salvation?? ( If grace comes from the holy spirit ) Has anyone got any stories of those who have done the first Saturdays and seen the benefits?
Mary is the Spouse of the Holy Spirit and She is Mediatrix of all graces. We were asked by Our Lady at Fatima (approved by the Church) to make our five First Saturdays in reparation for the offenses committed against Her motherly Heart (Her Immaculate Conception, Her fullness of grace, Her perpetual virginity, and Her divine and universal motherhood) and to keep communism from spreading throughout the world. She also told Sister Lucia (Fatima) that She promised special protection at the moment of death and to obtain the graces necessary for salvation for all Her children who answered Her request to practice the five First Saturdays. She tells us through Fr. Gobbi (Marian Movement of Priests); "If you do what I ask of you, devotion to me will spread more and more, and then I will be able to exercise the great power which the Most Holy Trinity has granted to me. Thus I will be able to prepare for all humanity the new era of its complete renovation, in the glorious triumph of my Son Jesus." In answer to your last question, for myself, I have practiced the five First Saturdays ever since coming into the Catholic Church in 1993 and never missed a month. Being from a Protestant background, I can tell you that I didn't have much devotion to the Mother of God prior to coming into the Church, but it didn't take long for me to understand how much She loves us, and I have grown so incredibly much in love with Her and the Most Holy Trinity that I don't know how I ever lived without knowing Her. I could tell you many, many stories, but its not about me - its about assisting in saving souls. Please give your "Fiat" to Our Mother and make your First Saturdays and watch what She does for you. It is not exactly the same thing, for such a promise would not be consistent with authentic Christian teaching. The lure of presumptuous devotion to Our Lady has deceived many, but a presumptuous devotion is a false devotion. But as to that which the Blessed Virgin does promise -- is not the special assistance of Our Lady's grace a good reason for firm hope and trust that we shall, in the solemn hour upon which our eternity depends, have responded to the call of grace, and will die with sentiments of true contrition for our sins? We read in the lives of those especially devoted to the Immaculate Heart of Mary that they frequently experience at that time an awareness from Heaven that the hour of their parting is near. It is not precisely an announcement of death, but a new and gentle preoccupation with a more frequent and worthy reception of the Sacraments, with a greater purity of intention in all one's actions, and an intensification of one's charity and dedication to the apostolate of Our Lady.
