I don't think there is a thread about this, so why not here? To start with, here is a wonderful prayer I found on a JPII page on Facebook. It's worth sharing: TOTUS TUUS Totally yours, Immaculate Conception, Mary my Mother, Live in me, Act in me, Speak in me and through me, Think your thoughts in my mind, Love through my heart, Give me your dispositions and feelings, Teach, lead me and guide me to Jesus, Correct, enlighten and expand my thoughts and behaviour, Possess my soul, Take over my entire personality and life, replace it with Yourself, Incline me to constant adoration, Pray in me and through me, Let me live in you and keep me in this union always. Amen. (This prayer was written by the Holy Father John Paul II to Mary Immaculate)
Love that prayer Clare...thanks for posting. I'll have to add it to my prayer journal. It seems I mainly pray the Memorare, which is what I pray when I need her help. I call it "the bomb". When i is real urgent, I do like Mother Teresa, and pray 9 of them, which I call my "nuclear bomb". In my daily consecration prayer, the line that jumps out at me and one of my key take-aways from the consecration is my dependance on her. I depend on her to help me with all my life problems...and I depend on her to mold me into a saint and increase my holiness. I depend on her lead me to Jesus and to His will for me...I'd be totally lost without my heavenly mother!! When things go well, I pray the Magnificat, which reminds me of the good things God is doing in my life and give Him all the glory! When I worry about problems, I put on a CD of marion songs to helps me relax and forget about my problems. I feel I'm handing over my problems to her when I just get lost in beautiful marian hymns instead of my worries and fears!
View attachment 2007 The priest today for Saturday to my surprise said; not the mass of the Feria but the Saturday mass in honour of Our Lady. It is so long since I saw a priest do this! It brought back so many memories. I remember laying out the vestments in the sacristy as a kid and all the different colours. But I specially loved the blue and white vestments left our every Saturday and the Marian mass. In those days all the priests kept Saturdays in honour of Mary. The prayers of the mass always moved me when speaking of Mary. http://www.michaeljournal.org/holymass.htm Our Lady of Knock, Queen of Ireland, you gave hope to our people in a time of distress and comforted them in sorrow. You have inspired countless pilgrims to pray with confidence to your divine Son, remembering His promise: "Ask and you shall receive, Seek and you shall find". Help me to remember that we are all pilgrims on the road to heaven. Fill me with love and concern for my brothers and sisters in Christ, especially those who live with me. Comfort me when I am sick or lonely or depressed. Teach me how to take part ever more reverently in the holy Mass. Pray for me now, and at the hour of my death. Amen. View attachment 2006
I our parishes Saturday is always dedicated to the Virgin Mary and the priest often say it aloud. It feels so good to hear it specially at the morning mass . We have good priests!
Fatima Statue to Visit Syria in September http://www.zenit.org/en/articles/fatima-statue-to-visit-syria-in-september The pilgrim statue of Our Lady of Fatima will make its way to Damascus, Syria, during the month of September. The announcement of the statue's visit was made last Wednesday by the rector of the Shrine of Fatima, Father Carlos Cabecinhas. The purpose of the pilgrimage is "to implore the maternal intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary for the peace and well-being of the Christian communities of the country who are suffering the destruction of war." During a press conference, Fr. Cabecinhas stated that the visit of the statue was in response to a petition made by His Beatitude Gregory III Laham, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, and Alexandria and Jerusalem. "The message of Fatima is a message of peace," Fr. Cabecinhas said. He also called on the faithful to accompany the pilgrimage with their prayers "so that the Lord may grant peace to Syria and strengthen the Christians who live there." The rector of the Shrine of Fatima also stated in a recent editorial in the Arab edition of the Shrine's bulletin that an offering of three bullets and a handkerchief were offered by three nuns to the bishop of Leiria-Fatima, in honor of three Christians who were martyred in 2013. These, like so many others, Fr. Cabecinhas said, are related to the third secret of Fatima which prophesied the martyrdom of Christians. In this aspect, he concluded, the "third secret, while anguishing in the beginning, ends with an image of hope." (J.A.E.)
