    Hey everyone!
As I normally do each year, I would like to have a thread for those who would like to consecrate themselves or renew their consecration to Jesus through Mary. We will have a running thread for the 33 days where people can discuss, post questions, challenges or inspirations as we go along. Sometimes there is a lot of discussion and sometimes there is not so I just let the thread flow along either way. Consecration is a personal journey but it is always nice to take the journey with others.

You can use either Louis de Montfort's True Devotion to Mary consecration or Fr Michael Gaitley's 33 Days to Morning Glory consecration. The consecration date is May 13th Our Lady of Fatima feast day. Our journey begins April 10th.

If you are thinking, why in the world would I want to do this, the thread below might give you some inspiration:

If you don't have the materials or have general questions on consecration, below are consecration resources including links for the books:

If you are asking yourself what will this thread be like, below are the consecration threads from previous years:

    So, any takers?

Alright...a great group is forming for our 2016 consecration! We've got veterans re-joining us with torrentum, Clare and Indy. We also have newbies FL Panther and Amazing Grace. I prayed to our lady to send us some new people for this year's consecration and here you both are...thank you our lady :) and fl panther delaying his start date to join us...and so new to the faith...how blessed we are to have you!! Amazing Grace, bring on those questions whenever they come up...that is what we are all here for!! You are beginning a new way of life, praise God!

Dean, are you a consecration vet or newbie?

You know, whenever I start this thread each year, buckethead plants a thought in my head that no one will respond...that no one is interested. I never totally shake the doubt until I get the first positive response. I should have more confidence in our vets here and our lady bringing us newbies :)

Would anyone else like to join us? Confirm your ticket on our lady's ark now and consecrate yourself. You will never regret it :D

Thanks Clare, for adding the book by the Company of Mary group to the resources thread. I look forward to hearing about how it goes and how you like it. I will be doing de Montfort again this year, but will probably be looking to switch it up again for next year. I agree that something between de Montfort's method and Gaitley's is a good idea. I hear Kolbe has a way too but don't know much about it.

    What books/methods are others using?

PS - I'm in too. I originally consecrated myself to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on May 13, 2000 and have renewed my consecration a few times since then. I look forward to participating this year!

Thank you Potato Sack for the kind words above and thanks to our BVM for her intercession!

Abso-lovin-lutely! It will be my third time with MOG group- I will use both De Montfort and Gaitely like last year- i love the traditon deep heart felt De Montfort prayers but also like the breath of fresh air Gaitely way.
It gets better and I learn more and love more every time!!

PotatoSack, I was inspired by your post about Marian consecration, and this March 25 (Annunciation) my husband and I consecrated ourselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. We followed the 33-day de Montfort Consecration, thanks to you for the information. Both my husband and I loved the daily readings; we received much comfort and understanding of our Lord, our Lady and the saints. Thank you and many blessings!

Praise God!! Our Lady at work through the very threads of this forum...I think she does this all the time. I only post things I think she wants me to post. Congrats on you and your husband's consecration, what a beautiful thing to do together!

Awesome Charity...wouldn't be the same without you! And Heidi, we all keep each other on track, so I am sure you will finish this year. If you are using de Montfort and you get behind a little, it is easy to get behind a lot. That happened to me last year and it felt like a marathon trying to finish. Gaitely is a good option if you are worried about this happening. But, we will all keep each other on track. So nice to have you with us!

    Potatosack,
I did the beautiful and easy 33 day consecration that Sam put up last year and it has enhanced my rosary and my life to this day! Thank you Sam. It was what I needed and it was so simple and beautiful.

    I have a question,
Will you be publishing the prayers one should pray each day?

The reason being is that I don't have the prayers or the book and I am always so dog gone busy with keeping up with my other devotions, (I do have St Louis Mary De Monforts true devotion to Mary somewhere)

If the prayers and readings are not published I will do my best to stay abreast, use the internet, meditate, make up my own prayers and then leave it up to the Lord and Our Lady.

I want to do this again even though I seem to be a fly in the ointment:oops:.............. so I am in, if you will have me:notworthy:.

welcome aboard Josephite!! Great to have you with us. I don't plan on posting the daily prayers only because I don't think de Montfort's consecration is available online. There is an online version of his book but it does not include the consecration itself. If I could I would (along with Gaitley's, which is available online), as it is a great idea, but I don't think I can. I don't think you can copy and paste from an e-book, but if someone has True Devotion in e-book format, let me know if you can copy and paste from it. If so, I might just do it.

Hopefully though there will be lots of postings with people's thoughts, reflections, inspiriations, questions, etc. Some years there has been a lot of postings, some years it is quieter. It is really up to the group and I go with the flow. But it would be great if you could join us!
