May 13th is linked to the Fatima apparitions and St JPII attributed his survival to the intervention of Our Lady of Fatima. It's so curious having the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord on the same day of the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima. It's like God is tapping us on the shoulder and trying to tell us something through so remarkable a God-incidence. But what? Well Jesus ascends into heaven and the Miracle of the Sun, both upwards heavenly events. Anyone any ideas?
What comes to mind--" men of Galilee this same Jesus whom you have seen ascend will return in the same way..." I paraphrase but isn't that what the angel said? Hmmm.
Wow! I just read in the comments of some article yesterday that Sr Lucia said a nuclear war was averted in 1985 because of JPII's consecration. I was wondering if that was true, then you say this.... Could it be that the part of Akita's conditional prophecy that fire would fall from heaven and wipe out a 3rd of humanity was actually going to be a nuclear war in 1985, but it was averted?
One wonderful thing about the Ascension and Assumption is that both Mary and Jesus went to heaven in bodily form. There is a certain false mysticism that inclines to drop the body of the plot. That runs us into pure spirit which we are not. I often think one of the first things I would like to do when I reach heaven is to have a big party in a good Irish Pub up there lasting about two years non stop. Lots of drinking, singing dancing , story telling and getting events down here sorted out. Body, dogs, pub toilet and all. Maybe even the occasional row and fight to liven things up. I am afraid pink petticoats , wings and halos don't do it for me. But loosing the hangovers I can live with.
When I get to Heaven, after I gather my miscarried babies in my arms, I'm going straight to Jesus and sitting with Him for a long, long talk. I just really want to know what Jesus thinks and feels about EVERYTHING.
I have wondered this myself. And who knows how much JPII sacrificed everything to Our Lady to save us?
During the Cuban Missile Crisis in Moscow two senior functionaries arrived at the Kremlin . The lift stuck inside the building carrying the duo up to see Kruchev. If they had reached him their would have been all out nuclear war at once. They were stuck in the lift for half and hour. By the time they got out Kennedy and Kruchev had their phone call and things got sorted. If the lift had not broke down we would all be burnt toast. What's the chances of this happening at just the right time? This sort of thing has happened time after time..
Our Lady has done some heavy lifting for us all along the way. Much incentive to keep those Rosaries going.
If fires falls from Heaven it will be literal fire from the literal Heaven. I am convinced this represents the truth, but about the nuclear threat of a third world war, I believe it is a prospect more inclined towards propaganda. The world is currently submerged in the deception of lies and confusion, while the liars concealed behind it consider themselves to be enemies of our Lord. The only Truth for certain is Jesus Christ himself and his Holy Word; from Who I know the fire will truly come. If even science is compromised into the hands of the liars who use it to propagate their insidious plots and deceits, I fear we can easily err if we trust the arguments and theatrics that have been presented to deceive us by those who rule this world, we are not after all of this world. I believe the intention is to led us astray from our beloved Universal Church, and in these days of unsurmountable confusion it can be the test that God allows on mankind. But that said, John Paul II seems to have been a Great Great Pope, one that I never got to properly appreciate until after he departed. If Sister Lucia of Fatima thought that a war, nuclear or not, was averted because of the Holy Pope's Consecration, and if she gives credibility to the Consecration in itself, I have no reasons not to believe that it was a valid concecration and that thanks to that Great Saint we will actually obtain the promised period of Peace. Although sometimes I believe were actually living the period of Peace because of that Consecration, and that times ahead of us will become very bad(for our own sake and as much as God permits for our own redemption).

I was reading today that Sr Lucia said in the late 90's that the Triumph of Mary's Immaculate Heart began with the consecration in 1984, so we're currently in the Triumph but it's an ongoing process. She said we were in "Day 3 of the Fatima week." She also explained that the period of peace granted to the world did not mean a perfect time with no evil or conflicts. It meant the stop of militant communistic atheism and no world war.
