    STATEMENT OF ARCHDIOCESE OF DUBLIN

ON THE ALLEGED VISIONARY “MARIA DIVINE MERCY”

Requests for clarification have been coming to the Archdiocese of Dublin concerning the authenticity of alleged visions and messages received by a person who calls herself “Maria Divine Mercy” and who may live in the Archdiocese of Dublin.

Archbishop Diarmuid Martin wishes to state that these messages and alleged visions have no ecclesiastical approval and many of the texts are in contradiction with Catholic theology.

These messages should not be promoted or made use of within Catholic Church associations.

It has come to my attention the seer MDM has predicted that the Blessed Mother will appear in Garabandal this Spring. I have spoken to Conchita about this, and this was NEVER predicted by our Blessed Mother, and will NOT happen. If MDM is trying to unite herself to Garabandal prophecy, it is MY obligation to point out that this is NOT part of Garabandal prophecy, in keeping my Garabandal page absolutely 100 % accurate.

I just saw this too: Compliance on MDM
    April 16th, 2014 by twohearts

On Wednesday of Holy Week 2014, the Archdiocese of Dublin issued a statement on its website on the writings of the “alleged visionary” Maria Divine Mercy (MDM) stating that the Archbishop wishes to state that “these messages should not be promoted or made use of”. In compliance with this statement, Two Hearts Press and Dr. Bowring will no longer be selling the book, “The Great Battle”, which had “made use of” MDM as a source

This is welcome news obviously. But I fear it will not dissuade MDM followers from believing her. In fact, they will use this statement as evidence that Bishop Martin and the Archdiocese are on the 'wrong' side of the schism.

Of course they will. It is no different than all other schisms or heretics. They will just say this bishop works for the antichrist pope. So sad and they need prayers.

Maria Divine Mercy also knew 2 years before Pope Francis was elected that he would be seen as "a breath of fresh air" on March 5, 2011

    Prophecy fulfilled.

That's funny, because she convinced her followers Pope Francis was a "false Pope " !

Seems MDM is saying Pope Francis would be a false prophet. Since we know that the messages are false, does this mean that Pope Francis would be the opposite and that he would be a great Pope?

I would hardly call that a fulfilled prophecy when the whole world other than many Catholics thought Pope Benedict was staunch and dry and harsh. That would be like me predicting that the seatle Seahawks will not win the Super Bowl next year. Quite obvious suggestion if you ask me and quite vague. You will not find many people on this board supporting a false prophet who seeks money from her "prophetic" business on this board but welcome none the less.

Good one Fatima that is why I made such a prophecy. I can live with a Packers vs Bengals Super Bowl since the Packers have my University of Kentucky boy Randal Cobb! They are my NFC team since ever since they drafted our punter then Cobb.

I think there may be a lot of MDM followers coming to this site after the formal Church condemnation of MDM.

I think this because our viewing figures have suddenly gone through the roof.

If you are reading this, the one thing that sets true revelations apart from false ones is obedience to the Church.

Be obedient put these things aside, it is time to move on.

MDM seems false and of little interest to me . And I welcome this....Archbishop Diarmuid Martin wishes to state that these messages and alleged visions have no ecclesiastical approval and many of the texts are in contradiction with Catholic theology.

But arent you following messages with similar problems? messages that have no ecclesiastical approval and many of the texts are in contradiction with Catholic theology.

The problem at the moment is the timeframe. If, as many of us here have been forced to conclude from the sheer number of sources saying the same thing, the Illumination of Conscience and ensuing events may be only a matter of months away, there simply isn't time to wait for Church authorities to make official pronouncements on alleged locutions with urgent content which don't contain obvious errors such as those of MDM. No locutionist is going to be officially approved in her/his lifetime in any case, for the obvious reason that this would be tantamount to giving a blank check, which would be very dangerous as people can and do go off the rails. In other words, I don't see any Church position being taken soon on some of the most substantial recent purported prophetic writings (Luz de Maria, Sulema, Agustin del Divino Corazon ...), besides which there is the additional question of messages being received outside Catholic jurisidiction.

There are no short cuts here, only two choices -
    i) stay away from all living mystics, as there are none whose messages can be considered 'approved' in a formal sense (the nearest we have is Edson Glauber and Maria do Carmo, who are connected with the officially endorsed apparitions of Itapiranga, but even there the messages are not necessarily approved. There are some cases of an imprimatur - Vassula Ryden being one, another being Canadian Léandre Lachance, whose books (dialogues with Christ rather than locutions in the strict sense) were given an imprimatur by a Latvian Cardinal. At the next level down, Javier Viesca's locutions were given a nihil obstat by Mexican theologian Antonio Gutierrez in 2005). Deciding not to read at all is needless to say a perfectly reasonable course to take for those who are afraid of deception, as private revelation isn't considered binding even when approved - even if this is a principle with which powerhouse theologian Karl Rahner notably took issue in his famous essay on private revelation back in 1949
    http://www.bardstown.com/~brchrys/Rahner.html
ii) Read and discern prayerfully. No messages have ever come with neon lights flashing 'attention: approved revelation' - just look how long it took the Church finally to decide on the canon of the New Testament!

Not going there Mac. You have shown me to be a person who is not going to change his thinking no matter what is said or demonstrated to you. You want proof with everything and that is not how faith works. The spirit convicts me in what I believe and I can't prove this to anyone. That's why it is faith, not science. So why bother?
