SteveD, couldn't you change the title of your thread to " Are you going to ban me too" . I'd rather not see another very important member who expresses well the traditional view lost, by 'hari-kari'.

I only dip into the forum, and I only dip into Pope Francis' homilies etc so I do not comment with any great authority.

Jesus caused scandal by associating with sinners on the fringe. Many individuals that cared deeply for the integrity of the faith of his time were abhorred by his company keeping.

Pope F keeps strange company, I can't always understand what he's saying. He talks 'off the cuff' making disjointed remarks. BXVI only spoke from pre-prepared material - he only said exactly what he meant and the transcript was there to be raked over.

Pope F invites us again and again to discuss / debate.
He, like Fatima, never says anything in contradiction to Church doctrine. Main stream media and dissenters read between the lines of what he actually says, looks at what he does and make huge assumptions. People Pope F talks to make all kinds of incredible assertions.

I have zero idea whether people in second unions should receive the Eucharist.
    It's just not that obvious.

What was the condition of the souls of two men on the road to Emmaus? I have zero idea.

Did Jesus give Judas the Eucharist at the Last Supper? I have zero idea.

Was Jesus a disgrace to people faithful to the letter of the law? I'm pretty sure he was.

When the Samaritan woman left the well and went into the village she stirred enough curiosity to get others to come to the well and meet Jesus.
Maybe Pope F is trying to have those kinds of conversations.

Mother Teresa said that if we judge people we leave no room to love them.
    Let's get lovin'

Padraig I think it would be helpful if you could give us a brief on what's the deal with SteveD, Jerry, Mac and Fatima's membership being deleted for above?
    It doesn't make any sense.

Feels a bit like hooded men breaking into the house, dragging family members outside and executing them in a dark alley somewhere.

    Thanks.

We all must remember that this is the Mother of God Forum. Perhaps this wonderful prayer, the Magnificat should be our motto and guide since it is in this Spirit that we all should participate as members.

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior
for he has looked with favour on his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me,
    and holy is his Name.

He has mercy on those who fear him
    in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm,
he has scattered the proud in their conceit.

He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,
and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.

He has come to the help of his servant Israel
for he remembered his promise of mercy,
the promise he made to our fathers,
to Abraham and his children forever.

    (Lk 1:46-55)

    Padraig you've lost me.
There are no recent posts on this thread of any consequence are there?
I am neither happy or unhappy about forum discipline. I simply don't understand what is going on.
Have various conributions been edited/deleted as well perhaps?

You know what? That is the most beautiful and insightful thing I have read on here in a long time. We seriously cannot second guess our Lord's choice in our pontiff. He is a kind and gentle soul. NONE of us would hold up one day in his shoes with all the criticism and stuff he has gotten. HE IS NOT THE BAD GUY! Some people just don't like change, and when I say that Jesus is opening the doors AND the windows too---he will! Change is coming and its not what we think it is. Personally, it feels like our Lord is preparing us all to ''hear his voice" (which we should be anyways) in a profound way. As for the Church buildings? All that is needed is an altar! Which can be found underground...if you know what I mean...Rome will be destroyed. Prophesy demands it. The Church is those who are in Unity with the Pontiff and obedient to our Lord on earth as it is in heaven living in His Divine Will.

Amen! If Francis is the Pope that may help bring about Catholic and Orthodox unity and the Pope that may bring us through the warning then Stan is going to want to attack him from every possible angle.

There are a few things that I feel have been discussed enough and are possible attacks on our church they are St Malachi Prophecy of the anti-Pope or last Pope and the third secret not being revealed conspiracy. I really wish they could be put to bed finally.

Its now 423 days since Jorge Mario Bergoglio became Pope, that's 3 Hail Marys * 423 = 1269 + a good few others dropped in here and there most days. So if i'm praying for an anti-pope then I think that is a major insult against the Angelic Salutation. I think some people have become overly paranoid from too much knitting together of false prophecy and conspiracy particularly from evangelical protestant sources. The internet is full of snares and we have to be very careful.

I pray that all schisms will be healed in time..

I am not au fait with all the postings on here - but some of the banned names are familiar to me. Would it not be possible to place a temporary ban, in the first instance? Asking people to respect the forum's rules and suspending membership if they go too far. I suppose if the atmosphere gets toxic then you do have to boot some people out, but IMO it's a pity.

When a sitting pope declares that the Eucharist is just a symbol, we will know that he is a false pope. Until that happens, we must stay obedient to the Holy Father and defend him.

And we need to remember that the enemy has dominion over the airwaves, and he is the father of lies. Many who have tied themselves in knots over Pope Francis do so over speculation and the twisting of his words. Don't believe what you read, believe what you see.

Kathy can you explain your theology of "false popes".

Priests may be in mortal sin and spout all sorts of nonsense yet God still channels his graces through them to the Church when they administer the sacraments so long as they are validly ordained.

Likewise I would hold that a Pope who is validly elected can be in mortal sin, blind deaf and dumb - yet we Catholics hold that he will still be guaranteed by God that unique charism given the successors of Peter. That is, what he formally teaches the Church is God's will for us - and what he teaches in this way must be received with docility and obedience of heart (presumably one may still not like it privately I suppose).

I suggest that if we ever get to the point that a validly elected Pope appears to contradict what we personally consider established Tradition/Doctrine then ... a true Catholic will check their pride and "knowledge" at the door to the Church and assume that the Pope's allegedly new doctrine is not new but simply beyond our pay-grade to understand or publicly question.

It is the Muslims who are primarily a "People of the Book."
Catholics are a primarily People of God in union with the Apostle Peter and his successors.
