No surprise here. I always felt Fox was controlled opposition. He can move right over to the Daily Wire with Michael Knowles and Ben Shapiro.
Well say a prayer for poor Don Lemon. He bit the bullet at the same time. Poor, poor Don! How he used to make me squirm with embarassment for the poor guy, especially when he bombed towards the end. I think he only ever had two things going for him; firstly that he was black and secondly he would echo everything the Democrat machine said in spades. Apart from that there was never anything much more to poor Don. Cable TV is dying; so is mainstream Media, the World has moved on. Tucker, if he sets up his own outfit on the internet, will be wildly, wildly, successful. I always had the feeling he had a deep Faith. So he will do well. He is interesting, articulate, intelligent and he says things that are off the court of the mainstream narrative. What's not to like? Fox News , on the other hand is dead without him, a walking talking Zombie. Prayers for poor Don though. No more embarassing moments. Which is a blessing. For me. For him. For the entire planet. Don reminds me of this.
Did any of you notice Michael Voris in recent months? Am I imagining it, of does he look very unwell?
This is the speech , I believe, that got Tucker Carlson the Boot. It may have been the Last Straw for the Powers that Be, but it was a pretty big Last Straw
Bravo Tucker. Some truly exceptional moments in this speech. Especially his observations about truth.
Tucker's speech was refreshing. Fox news stock lost 1 billion dollars yesterday. Tucker's departure also came in the immediate wake of Fox News paying nearly $800 million to settle a defamation suit by Dominion Voting Systems for claims made by Mr. Carlson and others about voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election. Tucker was also outspoken regarding the role Fox played in promoting the vaccines to conservatives. In situations like this employers often have some sort of non- disclosure agreement attached to a "departure package" so he may be limited with what he can say at this time. It appears as though MSM has been busy cleaning house, but it is a move they may regret. Tucker carried Fox News. Hannity, Watters, and Ingram will never pull in the ratings like Tucker Carlson. After this fiasco, perhaps MSM will lose credibility with a good deal of their audience.
Fox News is the Walking Dead now. It's just a matter of time now until they keel over now that they cut out their own heart .
I agree. Megan Kelly and Glen Greenwald were discussing it. I think it was Greenwald who said "the Fox execs are all in their conference room drinking bud lite and wondering what to do. Also Kelly says Tucker Carlson never said anything about voter fraud through dominion. In fact he called out those who claimed they had proof. He said to show it or stop making terrible accusations. She says others should have been axed before Tucker if that was the motivation-'Maria Bartiromo and others. It may be he just upped and quit. Glenn Beck thinks that might be what happened because they kept trying to rein him in and he may have had enough.
Megan Kelly and Glen Greenwald said basically the same thing if I am recalling correctly. I listened to a couple different commentaries.
https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2023/04/tucker-carlson-fox-news-rupert-murdoch Tucker Carlson’s Prayer Talk May Have Led to Fox News Ouster: “That Stuff Freaks Rupert Out” Fox Corp. chair Rupert Murdoch is said to have balked at Carlson’s remarks in a Friday night speech, driving another theory about the prime-time star’s abrupt exit. “He doesn’t like all the spiritual talk,” said a source.
And of course the left revels Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), a representative of the U.S. government, cheered the “deplatforming” of conservative media figure Tucker Carlson, saying that “deplatforming works” and “is important.” “Deplatforming works, and it is important and there you go. Good things can happen,” she said in a video on her Instagram account, after news broke that Tucker Carlson was out at Fox News. She also claimed Tucker was responsible for death threats to her office and “plenty of people across the country,” saying: Couldn’t have happened to a better guy. What I will say though, is well, I’m very glad that the person that is arguably responsible for the some of the largest driving some of the most amounts of death threats and violence threats not just to my office, but to plenty of people across the country. She did express concern that he would eventually find a new platform, comparing him to an evil Marvel villain. I also kind of feel like I’m like waiting for the cutscene at the end of a Marvel movie after all the credits have rolled, and then you see like the villains like hand reemerge out to grip over like the end of a building or something,” she said. On the day before Tucker’s departure Ocasio-Cortez called for restrictions on Fox News, accusing it of inciting violence, as previously reported by Breitbart News. She told MSNBC: I believe that when it comes to broadcast television, like Fox News, these are subjected to, to federal law, federal regulation in terms of what’s allowed on air and what isn’t. And when you look at what Tucker Carlson and some of these other folks on Fox do, it is very, very clearly incitement of violence, very clearly incitement of violence, and that is the line but I think we have to be willing to contend with. AOC Revels in Tucker Leaving: Deplatforming Works and It Is Important
Glen Beck posted this on Twitter today... "When I was at Fox News, I was told not to use the word "God" on the air. They COUNTED how many times I disobeyed. I don't know if Tucker Carlson's speech about God and prayer was the final straw, but I have a feeling it DEEPLY bothered Rupert Murdoch. "
Aaaah. Well. That explains it. This was spiritual from the get-go. Two men walking in opposite directions one through a tough narrow gate it would appear. The other....well let's just say I hope he gets a direction correction.
