My good wife and I will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary tomorrow we decided to renew our wedding vows in thanksgiving to our divine lord for the blessingings he has showered us since our journey began we also decided to combine our evening celebrations with a fund raising event for the children's cancer charity which provides respite for children and families suffering and recovering from this horrible illness we have asked all guests not to buy gifts etc but instead donate to our go fund page.. go fund page link below. https://www.justgiving.com/page/sinead-rooney-1689508355679?utm_medium=fundraising&utm_content=page/sinead-rooney-1689508355679&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=pfp-share
Thankyou we had the most beautiful service and what made it even more special was our dear friend of 25 years Fr Martin Graham was the celebrant. A big thankyou to all that donated to our chosen charity
On the eve of our wedding renewal my wife and I had decided to go for a long confession which is pretty hard these day as it always seems rushed we wanted to make sure that we were both very well prepared for our service as we both felt that our commitment to God needed to be true and sincere, I wont go into all the details but we had felt for years that our original wedding service was tainted by the celebrant and that needed fixed for us, That we know now is truly truly fixed . We both managed to get a lovely old priest for our confessions and I personally had a wonderful experience as I spoke to the priest about my life's journey and putting straight my wrongs he listened with such love at the end of my confession he wanted to give me something a letter wrote by a priest friend of his the letter was about parenting he started to read a part in the letter which he felt was for me and when he read it he started to sob and cry, I ended up having to console him which was just beautiful ( Jesus needed a hug ) the letter is below and I have added a couple of pics of my entire family at our service
I am so delighted to see these pictures. John you and Sinead have an exceptionally handsome family. The girls are so pretty. The boys so handsome. And there is a light around all of you. May God grant you more wonderful years full of His richest blessings. Thank you for sharing this.
I am overjoyed that you and Sinead renewed your vows in such a beautiful and special way. You are so blessed. Your family is lovely. And I am deeply moved by the letter. Choked up, in fact.
I took a picture of that poem with my iPhone and hope to make copies. Great to have for many reasons. Gifts for our children and others.
Congratulations John. You are so blessed and you have a beautiful family. I wish you every blessing for the future.
